MTC PLACEMENT

These are the works I’ve been creating on my placement year, as Artist in Residence at MTC Coventry. My job is to create artwork intended to decorate the office spaces, meeting rooms, staircases and hallways of the buildings belonging to the company. Being a manufacturing center, my artwork has to be inspired by the working environment in MTC, which is why the subject matter revolves around technology. The abstract pieces are based on patterns of metal scraps observed through the microscope. I have total creative freedom when it comes to media, which is why I’ve been experimenting with different materials and techniques, such as weaving and embroidery.
